Dara A. Cooley has joined the firm's Casualty Law department

TAMPA, Fla. -- Dara Cooley concentrates her practice in casualty law, primarily defending premises liability claims, auto claims, and personal injuries, as well as civil rights litigation. She is a member of the Florida and American Bar Associations; co-chair of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, Mentorship Program; and board member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division.

Ms. Cooley graduated magna cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, magna cum laude from the University of South Florida, and worked six years as an educator with the Hillsborough County School District prior to attending law school. While at Stetson, Ms. Cooley interned for the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and prosecuted as a certified legal intern at the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, State Attorney's Office. She earned the Victor O.Wehle Trial Advocacy Award, William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award, received the highest grade designation in Negotiation and Mediation, and served as the Stetson Chapter President of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

Prior to joining Williams Schifino, Ms. Cooley served as judicial staff counsel to the Honorable Michelle Sisco, the Honorable William Levens, and the Honorable Christopher Sabella at the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.

Ms. Cooley is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida.

Williams Schifino Announces New Associate

Joel R. Mohorter has joined the firm's Business and Commercial Litigation department

TAMPA, Fla. -- Mr. Mohorter graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law where he was a Senior Associate for the Stetson Law Review. During law school, Mr. Mohorter served as a judicial intern for both the Honorable Elizabeth Jenkins at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Honorable Caroline Tesche at the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court, Family Law Division, in Hillsborough County, Florida. While in law school, Mr. Mohorter also served as an intern at the Office of General Counsel for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and as a law clerk for Bankers Financial Corporation.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Mohorter worked as an environmental consultant for a Florida based environmental consulting firm and also held a position with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement at the Tampa crime lab.

Mr. Mohorter is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Williams Schifino Announces New Shareholder

Associate Dan Dietrich elected as Shareholder

TAMPA, Fla. (May 4, 2012) -- Williams Schifino Mangione & Steady PA (Williams Schifino) is pleased to announce that Associate Dan Dietrich has been elected as the firm's newest Shareholder.

Mr. Dietrich is an attorney practicing in the firm's litigation department, focusing on securities litigation and arbitration, and business and commercial litigation.

Mr. Dietrich graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from the University of Miami.

He attended law school at St. John's University in New York, where he was the editor-in-chief of the New York International Law Review. Prior to joining Williams Schifino in 2006, he practiced at a Manhattan law firm focusing on securities litigation.

He is a member of the New York Bar, The Florida Bar, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and Hillsborough County Bar Association.

Williams Schifino grows its Business Litigation group

Amy Baruch will focus on business, civil and bankruptcy adversary litigation

TAMPA, Fla. (October 7, 2011) -- Williams Schifino Mangione & Steady PA (Williams Schifino) is pleased to announce that Amy Baruch has joined the firm's Business Litigation group. Ms. Baruch also recently passed the Florida Bar exam and was sworn in on September 26, 2011.

Ms. Baruch's practice will include business torts, contract disputes, personal injury claims and other complex business and civil litigation matters, as well as bankruptcy adversary litigation.

Robin Keener elected to Shareholder

TAMPA, Fla. (February 7, 2011) -- Williams Schifino Mangione & Steady PA (Williams Schifino) is pleased to announce that Robin Keener has been elected the firm's newest Shareholder.

Ms. Keener is an attorney in the insurance coverage practice group of the firm, where she provides clients with opinions and analysis of insurance coverage issues and extra-contractual exposures under personal, commercial, and professional policies. She represents insurance clients throughout the state of Florida in litigation arising from insurance coverage issues, including declaratory, breach of contract and extra-contractual actions.
