Alternative Dispute Resolution
It is a matter of common knowledge and statistical fact, that a vast majority of disputes and lawsuits are resolved through settlements or other private arrangements. This fact, coupled with the ever increasing caseload of the various court systems, has lead to the almost universal requirement that lawsuits be mediated. The lawyers at Williams Schifino have extensive experience in the preparation for, and the representation of clients at, mediation or other alternative dispute forums. Our attorneys appreciate and understand, that a settlement crafted by the parties, is often far more productive, and much less stressful for the client, than protracted litigation and trial. If mediation or other types of alternative dispute resolution appear reasonably available, our lawyers will counsel accordingly.
In addition to acting as counsel and advocates for our clients in the context of mediation or other alternative dispute forums, several of our lawyers are certified by the Florida Supreme Court to serve as mediators. Our certified mediators who are available to assist other lawyers and their clients include: Robert V. Williams, William J. Schifino, Jr., Robert M. Stoler and John J. Agliano. In addition to serving as a mediator in many cases, Bill Schifino is also registered as an arbitrator with the National Association of Securities Dealers, and frequently provides his services on NASD arbitration panels.
