John Schifino practices in the areas of business litigation, environmental law and eminent domain. Mr. Schifino has broad experience litigating issues involving complex contract disputes, business torts, shareholder disputes, professional malpractice claims, and First Amendment matters. Mr. Schifino's practice also includes the representation of business clients in areas of environmental enforcement, compliance and permitting. He has represented business clients in Superfund (CERCLA) matters, and has served on a steering committee for a Superfund site located in Hillsborough County, Florida. Mr. Schifino has lectured frequently on environmental matters, and published Environmental Management Systems in Managing Hazardous Materials, a comprehensive hazardous materials text published by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management. Mr. Schifino is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Schifino currently chairs the Florida Bar Association Grievance Committee, Division E, in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, and is a member of the board of directors of the Hillsborough County Bar Associations Trial and Litigation section. Mr. Schifino is also a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association (Member of the Environment and Land Use Section, Trial Lawyers Section, and Eminent Domain Section), The Florida Bar Association (Member of the Environmental and Land Use Section), and American Bar Association (Member of the Environmental and Land Use Section and Trial Lawyers Section). |
