Scott Brown is Of Counsel to the firm. He has broad experience in all aspects of real estate law, including representation of individuals and institutional clients in connection with the acquisition, development, financing, sale and leasing of commercial real estate, shopping centers and office buildings. Mr. Brown has also represented local, regional and national lending institutions in structuring and documenting hundreds of construction and permanent loan transactions throughout Florida and the southeastern United States. Mr. Brown also has extensive experience in the issuance of title insurance for purchase, sale and loan transactions as agent for multiple national underwriters.
In addition to the practice of law, Mr. Brown has successfully completed numerous retail development projects throughout the State of Florida for national tenants including The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and The Sherwin Williams Company. He has also completed residential subdivisions and multiple residential rezoning projects and hearings. In this work he has been directly involved in all aspects of development, including preliminary due diligence, interfacing with city and county officials, architects, civil and environmental engineers, contractors and lenders.
Mr. Brown is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbel and a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Florida Bar (Member of the Real Property, Trust and Probate Law Section).
Mr. Brown graduated valedictorian, magna cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 1987. He was a Dana Scholar and received the West Publishing Award in 1986 and 1987.
Mr. Brown is actively involved in youth sports, having coached many teams in soccer, basketball and softball; as well as serving on the Board of Directors of Bayshore Little League.
